The Place
This is going to be the most non-bachelor party bachelor party you’ve ever been to. I’m requesting no strippers, as that sort of thing makes me uncomfortable. Rather, we are going to dive deeply into the untamed beauty that is south east Ohio.

I’ve booked the Ash Cave Lodge, in the Hocking Hills SP from 4pm Friday April 26th – 10am Sunday April 28th.
Looks like this place sleeps 12, and our grand total is 14, so I’ll bring an air mattress and the loser of the official pool tournament on Friday night gets the air mattress.
We have lots of amenities including an 8 person hot tub, 2 HDTVs, Gas grill, Pool table, Covered deck, Central heat/ac, Well equipped kitchen with all the appliances, Free Wi-Fi Internet, Laundry room with washer/dryer, Wood burning fireplace, and Fire pit.

Figure out a carpool – I was informed that a 4×4 vehicle is required to get up the driveway to the lodge. I have no idea how many 4×4’s we have in our group, so we will need to figure this out. I will be borrowing Liz’s highlander which is a 4×4, so at the very least we have one, and we can always park other vehicles at the bottiom and 4×4 up if needed, but it might be nice to have another 4×4, so let me know if you have access to one.
Figure out who’s cooking what, when? we’ve got three meals to figure out: Dinner 1 (Friday night), Dinner 2 (Saturday night), and the big breakfast (Saturday morning). I was thinking the we can all bring food and do sort of a potluck, or if people are willing to cook for us in teams that might be easier in the kitchen, so we will have to figure this out.
Full Cast of Dudes

Andy – AKA Dr. Randall Wayne-Star Bidet, is the drummer / percussionist in my band, Chris Michael and the Andrews. A proud Andrew, and a self professed soundcology geek, a terrific friend, and the guy who hopes to have a conversation with you in Spanish about a pandeiros.

Anton – Anton is our resident Ukrainian, who moved to Athens in July of ’22. Anton and his partner Olga have visited my family multiple times in Florida and Michigan over the years and we’ve become very close friends. Anton has an infectiously good mood, and will be eager to greet you with a warm hug.

Chris – Lead singer and songwriter in my band, Chris Michael and the Andrew’s. Super talented highly intellectual statistical lyrical genius, land-owner in Uruguay, lover of baseball, whiskey, and go.

Cody – As genuine as he is tall, lover of music and all around cool person without trying, Cody would love to talk everything from festivals to tech.

Erik – Erik and I were borderline Athens famous when we aligned as “show bro’s” and played in numerous pit orchestras for various local musicals in 2023. Erik loves nature, dogs, guitar, and is that guy who shows up at the right place, at the right time, and with all the right dance moves.

GB – known to the townies as Goat-Boi, AKA Justin, is southeast Ohio’s finest. I met him numerous times at Flowers farm, where we stayed up far too late and drank many “bonus beers” together discussing everything from dirt bikes / mustangs to tech. Super cool dude.

Jan – Jan is a kind hearted spirit who is originally from Germany, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know him, sharing culture, stories, and ideas. He will bring much needed culture and class to our party!

Jackson – Jackson lived in the bay area with Miki (his wife and friend of Ashley), and I saw him walking down the street once, but we never actually met while living in the bay area. Miki and Jackson moved to Athens slightly before we did, and helped convince / coach us through the process. Jackson is a brilliant entropnenur, audio buff, kind soul, funny man, who really appreciates a high quality frozen custard.

Jeroch – the first time I met Jeroch, I knew I just met a friend for life. He’s smile sums up his true spirit, and for those of you who don’t know him, I’m, very excited for y’all to meet. Jeroch has a consciousness and spirit that I find inspiring, he’s extremely environmentally conscious, humble, skilled and knowable in many many things.

Keith – Keith is our resident muralist / strong man. He’s responsible for the assimilation of the band Chris Michael & the Andrews. I admire Keith’s dedication to art, and community. He’s always up to something cool, but as humble as he is, you’ll have to pry it out of him, and I encourage you to do so.

Mark – Mark is probably the guy you don’t know. During my California years, Mark was the bartender / brewmaster of my favorite local brewery, even though he thought my name was Brad for the first six months of our friendship, we quickly became best friends.

Phil – pyrotechnics expert, antiquer, deer hunter, all around bad-ass, and designated “responsible” chaperone, Phil is the salt of the earth. Ask Phil about his hunting shack A.K.A. Bonnies old bedroom, or his legendary 4th of July firework shows.

Ryan – Ryan is a brother from another mother, and the beard is proof! I met Ryan when I moved to Athens, and I’m so happy his giddy dancing spirit lives here.

TRIP B – ROCKBRIDGE TRIP
7 Mile River Tour
Approximate Paddling Time: 2-3 hours.
This 7 mile trip is our most popular river trip, with two extra miles on the scenic Hocking River. There are more islands and sandbars, a few narrow areas, and more riffles. This trip has several viewing spots for observing people on the zip line. This trip also offers the opportunity to hike up and see the Natural Rockbridge, an amazing, natural work of art. This trip is available by canoe or kayak and is not for those on a tight schedule. (rafting: typically only available in the Spring).
We will transport you upstream, and you will paddle your way back with the current of the river to the livery where your vehicle is parked.
All paddling times are approximate, based on the average time of an average paddler in average river conditions.. Adverse river conditions may make an alternate waterway necessary.
Minimum age for participating is 3 years old but may vary depending on water levels and conditions of the river.

Pets must be on a leash in public areas. Remember there are no lifeguards on the river. We recommend that personal flotation devices should be worn at all times.
